Heya

I hope everyone's ok and having a nice summer. As there's just under 2 months left until the rough draft deadline (how did the time fly?) I thought I'd check in on you all and see how everyone's doing so far. I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess that you're all on the way but not finished yet?

How about tempting us all with a snippet of your writing so far? Not a summary or even a full paragraph, just, something to make us go "ooh".

For those of you who want to share how well (or not, as the case may be) you're doing, have a poll!

So how's it going was the question right? Okay - kinda like this, I have one story already 31K written and the other the actual intended bigbang one is about 7 and a halfK so far, so there'll hopefully be something before the deadline.

Here's a brief snippet from near the beginning of Story 1 (neither have anything remotely ressembling a title!)
If only they’d paid more attention at least . . . at least the final words before this would not have been in anger, would not have left Eliot feeling like he wasn’t worth shit. Eliot had tried to tell them and they’d ignored him. Nathan had seen the look of defeat in his eyes, watched as he’d stood, said calmly, “Think again, I’m not doing it,” and begun to walk towards the door.


and because I'm still not sure which will be finished, I shall give you also a snippet of Story 2 as well
When she’d stood up, furious, hands and knees scuffed and bloodied with a lump and the start of a bruise on her forehead, she turned with a vicious invective ready to fall from her lips, only to register the crates smashed on the floor, the sudden silence, the hand lying limp on the floor poking out from below the broken timbers. The silence was broken by Nathan’s cry of “Eliot!” and before she really had time to process what was happening, Nathan, Parker and Hardison were all scrabbling amongst the planks trying to get to Eliot.

In case you hadn't already realized - Eliot is going to be pretty central to whichever gets finished!

Oooh! Both of those have me wanting to read more, and I'm sure I can't be the only one.

Eliot being central is most definitely a good thing for me *waits with Parker-like patience*

I hope so although perhaps I should add 'eventually' on to that statement! I would like to finish them. Number 2 took a twist that in what respect is great but in another is like Aaaaaaaargh! because I need to completely rethink the masterplan!! LOL!

Art is not my forte with regard to the icon efforts! Both stories had 'nice' plans when I started and both have morphed into something completely unintended - apart from the Eliotcentricness (which is totally a word!) Glad you liked the snippets - hopefully a little encouragement is what I need at this point! Positive reinforcement that I can and will do it! *g*

Trust me, we'll all be able to say "well I've definitely seen worse" I'm sure :)

I think that's the way of fics, you start out with A leading to B but it ends up A -> D -> J and completely bypassing most of what you've planned out!

So like Indigo I also can't decide between two ideas for my Big Bang fic. They are both completely outlined and a little started, I just simply can't decide. It's very hard. All I can tell you is this:

Idea 1: Leverage/Psych crossover, Shawn is framed for murder, the team helps clear his name.

Idea 2: one word - Bountyhunters! They're after the team and wildness ensues.

Both will be Eliot-centric and I love both ideas but I just can't decide!!! Urgh!!!

It sounds good - particularly idea 2 to me but that's probably because I don't know Psych at all! I'm sure you'll get there, Good Luck *\0/* cheerleaders r us *\0/* Anything that's Eliot-centric is a good start I think!

I don't know Psych I'm afraid, but the bountyhunters fic sounds fun :)
