The Big Bang Job Mods.

Artist's Note: I did art for two of the prompts given to me from the mods, because I couldn't decide between the two, and I've created little summaries for each. The summaries are kind of the story thoughts that were going through my head as they got made.  I hope you guys like the images and I would love to hear what you think. :)

Prompt 1~
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] deannawesson
Prompt: Substitute
Characters/Pairings:  Eliot/Parker
Rating: G
Warnings: none

Summary:  They were a family, a quirky one but a family anyway.  Eliot, Parker and Hardison had been like siblings from the start, fighting and tormenting each other and then banding together against the outside world.  But things change and sometimes you no longer look at a person the same way you once did.  How does Eliot tell Parker he doesn't want to be her brother, that he's not just a substitute for someone long gone?

Prompt 2~
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] deannawesson
Prompt: Flying (or Wings)
Characters/Pairings:  Sophie/Parker
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: none
Link to art:

Summary:  In a game dominated by boys, sometimes the girls found they needed to band together.  Nathan Ford knew he ran the team and that these two did what he asked...but he also knew they'd do almost anything, for each other.

Right, not long now *rubs hands together*. So this is the 'posting guidelines' post, which is more complicated than last years, but complicated can be fun ;)

Firstly, Authors Posting Guidelines

Authors, when posting your fics (aka when posting your 'masterpost' to the comm with the links to your fic) your subject line should read as follows:

Title of story: Author/s: Genre+Pairings: Rating

And you should use the following header:

Extra notes: if it has multiple parts, much &hearts if you link to the parts separately in the masterpost and link the parts together (so a link to part two at the end of part one etc) - I know a lot of people do that anyway, but not everyone does and it's one of those things that makes it much easier to read a fic.

Artists doing Art for Prompts: Posting Guidelines

When posting your art (or a link to your art, you can do either) your subject line should read as follows:

Prompt: Artist: Type of Art: Rating

And you should use the following header:

Artists doing Art for an Existing fic

A mix of the two above. Your subject line should read as follows:

Title of Fic: Artist: Genre/Pairing: Rating

And you should use the following header:

Fill out the header according to your art, but where possible provide warnings that relate to the fic (part of the aim being to get more people to read the fic as a result of your pretty art).

And finally: Artists making art for the big bang fics

There's no posting guidelines for you :p - your art will be linked to by your authors, but where possible please provide a short header on your art post (basic: made for thebigbangjob, for this fic by this author, the fic can be found here - include any warnings and a rating as necessary.)

If all else fails, look how I post my art as I have to go first ;)

-

As ever any questions poke us with a stick feel free to comment here or PM one of us moddly types.

Good luck everyone, and well done for sticking with us through everything, you crazy, awesome people ;)

Sorry, this is a day later than intended, time and the internet got away from me.

Each of you who has something to post, be it a fic or art made for a prompt provided by myself and [livejournal.com profile] charlies_dragon now have the chance to choose the day that you post your completed work. If you've done art for one of the two fics, then it should be posted on the same day as the fic.

Each day can only be claimed once, so it is first come, first served, but there are more days than there are people with stuff to post, so hopefully everyone will be able to find a date that works for them. Each date will be crossed out as it is claimed.

The dates available are as follows:

Wednesday 10th November ([livejournal.com profile] telaryn [livejournal.com profile] hickumu and [livejournal.com profile] weaselett fic and art)
Thursday 11th November ([livejournal.com profile] zortified and [livejournal.com profile] deannawesson fic and art)
Friday 12th November
Saturday 13th November ([livejournal.com profile] sian1359 art for prompt)
Sunday 14th November ([livejournal.com profile] tjb_waldring3 art for existing fic)
Monday 15th November ([livejournal.com profile] ldyghstwhisprer art for prompt)
Tuesday 16th November
Wednesday 17th November ([livejournal.com profile] deannawesson art for prompt)
Thursday 18th November
Friday 19th November

You have less than a week before final drafts are due in. Final drafts are due on the 8th November.

If you have any issues, don't hesitate to let us know, we'll do our best to sort them out and we are happy as ever to answer any questions you have.

The posting date claiming post will be put up on friday (5th November) so be sure to claim your date.

For those of you looking for the srtist claim post, it isn't up yet. I know it's supposed to have been up on the 4th, but we have a bit of a problem. As the artists have been told by [livejournal.com profile] weaselett, we have only had 2 rough drafts submitted, but over 20 artists signed up. Due to this we are having to re-work the whole artist side of things, as doing it the normal way would result in a majority of artists unable to join in, despite signing up, and that's even if we doubled up on artists like we did last year.

So, watch this space and we'll try to come up with something asap.

Again, sorry for the delay.
charlies_dragon: (Leverage - tbbj mod)
[personal profile] charlies_dragon
We have 8 notified drop outs & 2 submitted fics. That leaves 18 of you to submit something in the next 40 30 minutes to be counted.

Don't worry about how rough and un-postable it is. It's a rough draft submission meaning that so lng as it's 20,000 words long, it can have grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, you name it. Just turn it in and don't worry about those things. The only reason we'll turn you away is if you don't make the word count.
charlies_dragon: (Leverage - tbbj mod)
[personal profile] charlies_dragon
AUTHORS:
- You have approximately 36 hours left to turn in your rough drafts
- Only have 2 submitted so far
- Over 20 authors still to submit a rough draft
- Please see THIS post for more info. on how to submit your rough draft

ARTISTS:
- There are approximately 36 hours left to sign up as an artist

If you need to drop out, just leave us a comment here or email/PM the mods.

Please note that times used this year will be in GMT as it makes it easier for me and my co-mod. If you need to convert GMT times to your local times, please use the Time Zone Converter for ease of mind.

Hi everyone. We're down to the last seven days before the deadline for rough drafts. As yet, we have had no submissions, this makes me sad. If you're just waiting for me to tell you how to turn your rough draft in, then wait no more, for that is what this post is about!

Just to reassure you, your rough draft does not have to be beta'd - we're not reading it, just checking it to make sure it's at/over the 20,000 word mark and that it has some form of beginning middle and end. Once we've received your email, you'll get a reply confirming that we've got it, then you should get an email a little later saying that you're fic meets the requirements and that you're good to send it for beta-ing etc. Don't worry if this takes a day or two, I work unsociable hours so things tend to get done at weird times of the day.

Your fic MUST be received by midnight (GMT) October 1st. So long as it's 23:59 (GMT) or before on 1st October, then it’s ok.

Please read everything below before emailing your fic to us.

How to turn you rough draft in:

1. Save your fic as a .doc, .rtf or .txt file (if this isn't possible for you for whatever reason, please email us asap). When saving it, please name it: Rough draft [Title] by [Author]. Please use the final title and author name you want your story to be known by as either of them could end up on your art.

2. In a new email, do the following:
- To: leverage.bb.mods@googlemail.com
- Subject line of the email must be: Rough draft - [author name]
- Attach the document
- Content of the email must contain:

An explanation...
Title: This should be the final title in case it appears on any art
Author: You!
Beta(s): So we know that you do have someone to help you get your fic into perfect reading order. If you're in need of a beta, check here
Characters/Pairings: Just the main ones and an OC caveat if you have any OCs
Rating: If you're unsure on how to rate your fic, then please check out either of the links here. We'd rather you rate it a little higher than you think and mention that, then talk it over with us/a friend, than rate it too low and people get a shock when reading your fic
Genre: AU/canon/crossover etc.
Warnings/spoilers: character death, non-con, graphic violence/sex, episode(s) etc.
Current Word Count: To compare what we check your current word count to be with and so we know at a glance just how well you're doing
Summary: This is for the artists, not necessarily your final summary but what you're using to tempt artists to chose your fic to make art for
Notes: This isn't where to thank people but where you can tell us anything else you think we should know about your fic that's not already covered in the categories above. Also, if you're going to be away during November anytime then please tell us now/asap.

3. Double check that you've filled everything in and attached the document (you wouldn't believe the amount of times I've forgotten to attach documents when sending things to people!) and hit SEND.

A few other things:
- On 5th October the artist claiming post will go up and fics will be claimed by artists on the title, summary, genre and warnings alone (though if a fic has a very high rating, that may well be mentioned somewhere too), so make sure you include as much temptation in them as possible :)

- All art/vids are due by midnight 1st November.

- Final fic drafts are due by midnight 1st November.

- The posting schedule will be posted on 3rd November, posting of fics will begin 4th November.

Just to re-iterate as it's very important: YOUR ROUGH DRAFT -MUST- BE SUBMITTED BY MIDNIGHT (GMT) ON 1ST OCTOBER, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Please note that times used this year will be in GMT as it makes it easier for me and my co-mod. If you need to convert GMT times to your local times, please use the Time Zone Converter for ease of mind.

Good luck to everyone - I know you can do it :D I can't wait to read what you all come up with.

Whilst [livejournal.com profile] omgleveragebb is the place to go for any and all support whilst you're writing your BigBang, I thought that it would be a good idea to have a centralised place to offer your beta skills/request a beta.

There'll be two comment threads to this post, so please check carefully before commenting to one. If you wish to offer your beta-ing skills, then the "Offering my skills as a beta" comment thread is the one for you. If you're looking for someone to beta your fic, then the "Help! I need a beta" comment thread is where you need to go.

I hope this is helpful to you all. I'll be linking to it in the sidebar and over at [livejournal.com profile] omgleveragebb momentarily.

PLEASE NOTE: if you signed up to be a beta/request a beta this year on last years post, please copy & paste it into the apporpriate comment to this post.

Hi everyone

I'm really sorry about having been a virtually-absent mod these last few months. I could go on about work and other RL things getting in the way, but none of you want to hear about that, so on with the post.

Before I get to the real reason for this post, I would like to thank [livejournal.com profile] weaselett for all of her help running the artists side of this challenge :)

AUTHORS:
Please note that there is just over 1 week left to get your rough draft written and submitted. The deadline is midnight on 1st October. Submitting fics before the last moment is highly encouraged, but you won't be penalised if it's not possible :) If you think that you're not going to make the deadline but still want to join in, you can still sign up as an artist or offer to beta someone's fic.

ARTISTS:
Artist sign ups are still open and will stay open until midnight on 1st October. [livejournal.com profile] weaselett has an open poll here regarding reminders about claiming and making art for more than one Big Bang.

Authors, please see the next post (which will be up within 24 hours) for how to submit your rough draft.

Please note that times used this year will be in GMT as it makes it easier for me and my co-mod. If you need to convert GMT times to your local times, please use the Time Zone Converter for ease of mind.
[identity profile] weaselett.livejournal.com
It's me again :) - I hope the writing is going well with all of you writers, you're got a little under to weeks before rough drafts are due, and details on how to send them out way will be appearing at some point during the next week.

Now, I have a question for all of our lovely artists - we now have almost as many of you as authors, though we'll see how many authors remain come draft time - I have two questions for you.
Last year each story had art made by two different artists, as we had more artists than stories. This year, it's likely that we will have about same number of both, but some people might still be willing to do art for more than one story. The other question in regard to a request that was made by one of you, for me to email a notification to you all just before claiming begins. With those two things in mind I bring you a poll:

[Poll #1620574]

And, as always, any questions just drop one of us mods a message and we'll get back to you :)

Artists

Ok so, there is still just over a month left for people to sign up to do art for the big bang. At present we have 15 wonderful people who have signed up (I shall confirm all those who have yet to be confirmed very very soon), but with 27 authors it would be lovely to see some more people sign up, so please go forth and pimp this challenge wherever there are artists.

Art sign ups can be found here

Getting back to the main point of this post, for this year myself and [livejournal.com profile] charlies_dragon decided to organise the work load a bit differently, with [livejournal.com profile] charlies_dragon being the main 'show runner' for the big bang while I take charge of the art peeps.

So artists, those of you that have already joined us, I shall be ruling over you with an iron claw ;) - if you have any art related questions, throw them my way, don't worry I'm not scary.

And as a start to my art modding duties, I would like to clarify a few little things art wise for you all. Art, for the purposes of the big bang, can be any of the following: a mix with a front and back cover, manips (in the form of banners, icons or covers), vids or digital/hand drawn art. (If you think I've missed anything, or need further information just ask :))
Each artist is expected to create at least one thing from that list (though in regards to icons, at least five icons should be made) but other than that you can do anything you like, working with the author of the fic that you claim.
charlies_dragon: (Leverage - tbbj mod)
[personal profile] charlies_dragon
As of now, writer sign ups are officially CLOSED for 2010.

We have 25 talented writers all signed up and ready to go - good luck to you all and I can't wait to read what you come up with :)

A reminder of deadlines for writers:
Rough Draft deadline: 1st October
Final Draft deadline: 1st November

Artist Sign Ups are still open and will remain so until 30th September; so if you know anyone you think might like to get involved art wise point them in that direction.

And don't forget there's our sister community [livejournal.com profile] omgleveragebb for all of your support needs.

If you have any questions about anything, don't hesitate to comment/email/poke one of mods, we are more than willing to help :)

Good Luck everyone!
[identity profile] weaselett.livejournal.com
It's [livejournal.com profile] weaselett your friendly co-mod here with a reminder.

The Big Bang Job 2010 writer sign ups will close at midnight (gmt) tonight , so if there's anyone still considering signing up, or you want to boost the signal, now is the time (you have just over two hours left).

writer sign ups can be found here

artist wise, any one wanting to sign up to do art for the authors (sign ups here), you have until the 30th september, so plenty of time yet on the artist front.
charlies_dragon: (Leverage - tbbj mod)
[personal profile] charlies_dragon
BigBang rules for artists/vidders:

1. You must have signed up by 30th September [full list of dates HERE].
2. There is no maximum on how many pieces of art/vids you have to make, but a minimum of one piece of art is required.
3. Your art can be of any rating (though it would be best to consult with your writer if the fic's rated lower than the art you're making etc.)
4. You will be able to post your art/vid to your site or LJ or wherever else you want/need.
5. As AUs and crossovers are allowed (but the main focus of the story must be the Leverage team/a Leverage character) you should be prepared to search out non-Leverage info./pictures etc.
6. The art/vid must not be posted/published publically anywhere else before your assigned posting date.

Please use the following form when signing up:

* AUs include, but aren't restricted to: genderbending; high-school/college fics (that don't fit canon); magic/psychic!character. Also, yes, a fic can be both AU & crossover.

For example:
LJ name: [livejournal.com profile] charlies_dragon
Author name: Susan
Email address we can contact you at: charlies_dragon [@] livejournal.com
Which would you prefer to make art for: "canon", AU or crossover?: Any, I don't mind
Which would you prefer to make art for: gen, het or slash?: Gen

Please note that times used this year will be in GMT as it makes it easier for me and my co-mods. If you need to convert GMT times to your local times, please use the Time Zone Converter for ease of mind.

Last but not least, good luck with your art/vid when the time comes to it :D
