What is a Reverse Big Bang?
Where, normally, the authors would sign up first and produce a draft, which an artist would then claim the draft and make art for it. For a reverse big bang, the artist make art, which is then claimed by an author, who uses the art as the prompt for their story.
So basically, a Reverse Big Bang is exactly what it says on the tin - a reverse of a big bang ;)

Artists

What are the requirements?
We ask that each artist makes at least one piece of art, which must be a minimum of 400x400. If you want to make a video, it must be at least 1 min long, and a fan mix would have to have a minimum of back and front cover, and six tracks.
You can make more than one piece of art, or a combination of pieces as a set of prompts if you wish, but you must meet the minimum requirements.
You can also make two sets of art (to be claimed by two different writers), but you must state your intention in your sign up, and we will require the draft of one of the 'sets' to be submitted by 9th December.

What type of art can I make?
Any kind of art is welcome, so long as it meets the requirements. So you can draw, create photomanipulations, fic mixes or trailer videos.

Can I make art and write for this challenge?
You can, provided you don't claim your own art.We would prefer that you only sign up to write if you are certain your own art will be complete.

How does the claiming process work?
The draft art will be put up, in a locked post on the support community, for writers to claim. The comment on that post will be hidden to all but the mods, and the writers will put in a claim for a piece of art.
We will ask if you want your art to be claimed by more than one writer or not, when you submit your drafts. The plan is for each piece of art to be claimed once (after which we would allow second claims).

Can I make art more than one piece of art?
As said above, yes you can, though we would prefer you to create only the one. If you are confident that you can make more than one piece/set of art prior to the deadline then you may sign up to do more than one.

Are there any restrictions to what art I can make?
RPF isn't allowed - there are other big bangs for RPF, and while we have nothing against RPF, this big bang focuses on Leverage, and the characters, rather than the actors (you may use pictures of the actors in other roles, but the story produced will be Leverage rather than RPF.

Crossovers, AUs and Fusions are all allowed but the focus of your art must be a Leverage character. You can crossover with as many fandoms as you like, so long as at least one of the leverage characters is the focus. So you can create your art where Eliot is a centaur from Xena, just be aware that it may limit who will claim your art and the person who claims your art may not recognise the fandom.

Please be aware that writers may not see your Sophie/Parker art as a femslash prompt. NC-17 art will not be accepted (the community is not age locked, and we would rather the challenge be open to as many people as possible).

Can I work with a writer on my own, without them having to claim a piece of art?
No - for the reverse big bang, we would rather only the writer who claims the art produce a work for it, during the duration of the challenge.

What are the deadlines?
You will need to produce a draft by the 16th December 2011. An information post will go up before then, giving you details on how to submit. Anyone making more than one piece/set of art, will need to submit a draft of one by the 9th December 2011.

The art claiming post will then go up on the 20th December, and will remain open until 8th January, or until all of the art has been claimed.

The posting period will be between the 16th and 30th March 2012.

What is the format for sending in our drafts? And can we send them in early?
You can send your drafts in as soon as you've finished, you don't have to wait for us to post the reminders.
All art should be jpeg, bitmap or png format. You don't need to send us the zip of your fanmix, the cover art will do. With videos, if you can upload it somewhere (passworded if you wish) and send us the link.
All drafts should be sent to: leverage.bb.mods [@] googlemail [.] com
Your header should read: your name, art, draft

What is the posting format for the final pieces? And how will we know when to post?
Once we have the final drafts of everyone's stories and the art, we'll work out a posting schedule, which will posted on the community. You will post your art to the community, with links to the story/stories written using your art as a prompt.

If you have any questions, whether it be something that isn't covered by this FAQ, something you want clarified, or just something you want to know, feel free to comment on this post, email us, or use the page-a-mod post (comments on that post are screened).
